As a human being, it is quite natural for everyone to expect a lot from others or everything. Often, people, tend to be very much psyched out when things don’t happen as expected. When there is a discrepancy in what we expect and get, we get disappointed. If you are an optimist, you find opportunities from failures that will save you from disappointments. Instead, if you are a person who breaks down utterly after a failure, you become prey to disappointment. The more you expect, higher the disappointment. It is good if you expect good things to happen, but too much expectation will lead to an emotional collapse.
The expectation is a positive belief that something desirable is going to happen. We expect a favorable outcome of a future course of action. Expectation exits till you know the results. When the results are unfavorable to us, we get cracked up or face a mental exhaustion. The possible outcome of an action has two types of results such as positive as well as negative. Positive outcome creates Euphoria, whereas negative outcomes create an emotional crisis, which often leaves a deeply rooted scar in one’s mind. If it irritates your mind for some time and you forget about it within no time it is well and good. Sometimes, it creates a crisis requiring a medical attention, it is always better to consult a psychiatrist.
Usually, perfectionists set high expectations out of themselves. These kind of people are most likely to be trapped in an emotional trauma. They think too much about mistakes and happen to be sad in the end. They tend to work on their mistakes instead of improving their strength. They have a high opinion of themselves and when some of their efforts don’t bear fruit, they are utterly broken down. We should always sharpen our skills that will help us to reduce mistakes and increase the chances of success in the future.

We have to put our best efforts to accomplish our goals. But, we should be careful enough not to expect too much out of us failing which would lead to the woes and worries of life. For example, if you have a loss in your business and you are too emotionally broken down and need your friend’s presence for forgetting your worries for some time. You invite him to your house and he said he has been held up and can’t come. This hurts your ego and becomes upset too much. You could have avoided feeling sad if you would have made your mind to understand that he is unable to come because of his busy schedule.
In short, high expectation about yourself or others will lead to a panic attack. The main things you have to do is to never set an unrealistic expectation of yourself or things. Check whether your beliefs are correct. Keep your mind cool and accept whatever may be the result of your actions. Another main thing you have to do is to create opportunities from failures. This will definitely take you to success.
